This artwork by Lazzaro Tavarone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Study Of A Rearing Horse sold for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,286.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lazzaro Tavarone; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Un cheval cabré, tourné vers la droite sold at auction in March 2003 with the realized price of EUR 15,275.00.
