Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2003 Christies in London held the auction 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE, which included the work Skating in Oxford by Lawrence Toynbee. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,702.50 (€ 3,947.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Toynbee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chelsea vs Spurs at Stamford Bridge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 85,250.00 (€ 105,136.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Skating in Oxford von Lawrence Toynbee zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.702,50 (€ 3.947,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Toynbee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chelsea vs Spurs at Stamford Bridge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 85.250,00 (€ 105.136,93).
