Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract Composition by Lawrence Atkinson was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 57,339.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lawrence Atkinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vorticist Composition, which sold at auction in January 2020 for GBP 112,500.00 (€ 133,817.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Abstract Composition von Lawrence Atkinson wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 57.339,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Atkinson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vorticist Composition beobachtet, die im Januar 2020 für GBP 112.500,00 (€ 133.817,50) versteigert wurde.
