A top price for Lambert Jacobsz. - as previously expected
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Saint Paul The Hermit Writing In His Study by Lambert Jacobsz.. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 38,539.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Saint Paul The Hermit Writing In His Study is the most expensive artwork by Lambert Jacobsz. that we have observed at auctions so far.
