This artwork by Kyra Markham achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2013. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work New Year'S Eve In Greenwich Village sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,188.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kyra Markham; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bleecker Street Fire Hydrant sold at auction in September 2005 with the realized price of USD 36,000.00 (€ 29,855.70).
