Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction African Contemporary Art, which included the work The Bereaved (Iii), 2022 by Kofi Bright Awuyah. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,362.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kofi Bright Awuyah - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The invasion, 2022, which sold at auction in October last year for EUR 7,872.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion African Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Bereaved (Iii), 2022 von Kofi Bright Awuyah zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.362,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kofi Bright Awuyah mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The invasion, 2022 beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für EUR 7.872,00 versteigert wurde.
