The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,905.77) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Klawdi Petrovitch Stepanov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Leçon de Dessin, D'Après L'Antique in June 2005 with an auction result of EUR 66,000.00.

Die Arbeit Marina Mnishek before taking the veil von Klawdi Petrovitch Stepanov wurde im Juli 2008 in der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.905,77) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Klawdi Petrovitch Stepanov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Leçon de Dessin, D'Après L'Antique im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 66.000,00.
