Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Portrait Of Rabindranath Tagore) by Kisory Roy was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,982.59). Other works by Kisory Roy have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2015 by the work Untitled (Howrah Station At Night) at USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,965.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait Of Rabindranath Tagore) von Kisory Roy im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.982,59) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Kisory Roy wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März 2015 die Arbeit Untitled (Howrah Station At Night) mit USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.965,18).
