Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Dove and a Hawk chessing under a Pink Leather Sun by Kirstine Roepstorff was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,480.18). Admittedly, works by Kirstine Roepstorff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Amnat and Satsit in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,988.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Dove and a Hawk chessing under a Pink Leather Sun von Kirstine Roepstorff im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.260,00 (€ 1.480,18) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kirstine Roepstorff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Amnat and Satsit im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.988,80).
