Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Water Drops by Kim Tschang-Yeul was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year. It achieved a price of HKD 533,400.00 (€ 62,455.68), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Tschang-Yeul achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Csh I in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,041,221.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Water Drops von Kim Tschang-Yeul wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 533.400,00 (€ 62.455,68) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kim Tschang-Yeul erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Csh I im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.850.000,00 (€ 1.041.221,09).
