Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work SP 05001 by Kim Tschang-Yeul. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,600,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 960,000.00 (€ 119,788.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kim Tschang-Yeul have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Csh I in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,041,221.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit SP 05001 von Kim Tschang-Yeul zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 960.000,00 (€ 119.788,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kim Tschang-Yeul auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Csh I im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.850.000,00 (€ 1.041.221,09).
