In June last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale, which included the work Recurrence CTM818 by Kim Tschang-Yeul. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 630,000.00 (€ 76,666.35), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Tschang-Yeul achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Csh I in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,041,221.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Recurrence CTM818 von Kim Tschang-Yeul zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 630.000,00 (€ 76.666,35) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kim Tschang-Yeul erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Csh I im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.850.000,00 (€ 1.041.221,09).
