Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A King Penguin with her chicks by Kenneth Norman Lilly. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 755.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kenneth Norman Lilly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Curlew; A Lapwing; Lapwings In Flight; Swallows In Flight; An Owl Resting On A Fence Post; And A Single Swallow In Flight in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,711.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A King Penguin with her chicks von Kenneth Norman Lilly zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 755,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kenneth Norman Lilly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Curlew; A Lapwing; Lapwings In Flight; Swallows In Flight; An Owl Resting On A Fence Post; And A Single Swallow In Flight im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.711,34).
