Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ken Symonds could be acquired at Christies in London in April 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Val and Amaryllis changed hands for GBP 176.25 (€ 301.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ken Symonds - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rooftops of A Coastal Town, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 687.50 (€ 876.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ken Symonds konnte im April 2000 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Val and Amaryllis für GBP 176,25 (€ 301,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ken Symonds mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rooftops of A Coastal Town beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 687,50 (€ 876,47) versteigert wurde.
