The work Set of Five Stoneware Teacups by Kawase Shinobu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Works of Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2004. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,270.50 (€ 1,828.54), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kawase Shinobu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Celadon Dish, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,752.76).

Die Arbeit Set of Five Stoneware Teacups von Kawase Shinobu wurde im September 2004 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Works of Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.270,50 (€ 1.828,54) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Kawase Shinobu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Celadon Dish beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.752,76) versteigert wurde.
