Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work Cottages near Delphi, Co. Mayo; and Delphi Lodge, Co. Mayo by Kathleen Isabella Mackie. The price achieved of GBP 587.50 (€ 818.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kathleen Isabella Mackie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Poison Glen from Ferry's House, Donegal, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,166.91).
