In November 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism, which included the work A view of the Kerksteeg with the Oude Kerk, Katwijk by Kasparus Karsen. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,000.00 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kasparus Karsen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Katwijk village with the Groot Badhotel in the background in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 45,410.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of the Kerksteeg with the Oude Kerk, Katwijk von Kasparus Karsen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.000,00 und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kasparus Karsen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of Katwijk village with the Groot Badhotel in the background im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.410,00.
