The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,878.80), 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Karl Heinrich Gruppe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Child With Cat in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 10,575.00 (€ 12,479.35).

Die Arbeit Joy von Karl Heinrich Gruppe wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion American Art | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.878,80) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karl Heinrich Gruppe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Child With Cat im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.575,00 (€ 12.479,35).
