This price was achieved in the auction The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part II. Dutch and Flemish Drawings from 1500-1900 at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 20,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Karel van Mander; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A male nude, seen from behind sold at auction in July 2014 with the realized price of GBP 80,500.00 (€ 101,535.81).
