In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale, which included the work The Sea by Kahtan Awni. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,125.89), 40% above the upper estimate. Other works by Kahtan Awni have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 9,562.50 (€ 11,080.75) in November last year for the work Arab Women.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Sea von Kahtan Awni zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.125,89) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Kahtan Awni haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 11.080,75) im November letzten Jahres für die Arbeit Arab Women beobachtet.
