Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Lady with Diya; Lady with Lamp) by K. G. Subramanyan was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,726.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by K. G. Subramanyan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mask, Icon, Mount, Mascot in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 144,350.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Lady with Diya; Lady with Lamp) von K. G. Subramanyan wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.024,00 (€ 2.726,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von K. G. Subramanyan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mask, Icon, Mount, Mascot im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 144.350,81).
