This artwork by K. G. Subramanyan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Untitled (Boar; Bull; Bison) sold for USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,814.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by K. G. Subramanyan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mask, Icon, Mount, Mascot in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 144,350.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von K. G. Subramanyan erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Boar; Bull; Bison) für USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.814,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von K. G. Subramanyan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mask, Icon, Mount, Mascot im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 144.350,81).
