Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work The Rise and the Fall by K. G. Subramanyan. The price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,364.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by K. G. Subramanyan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mask, Icon, Mount, Mascot in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 144,350.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Rise and the Fall von K. G. Subramanyan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.364,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von K. G. Subramanyan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mask, Icon, Mount, Mascot im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 144.350,81).
