Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak, which included the work The Blue Pool by K. G. Subramanyan. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 56,700.00 (€ 51,113.31). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by K. G. Subramanyan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mask, Icon, Mount, Mascot, which sold at auction in March 2013 for USD 185,000.00 (€ 144,350.81).
