Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Rider On Horseback by Juliusz Kossak for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,442.81). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Juliusz Kossak - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Schlittenfahrt, which sold at auction in November 2015 for EUR 7,188.00.
