Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work A Portrait Of The Singer Lady Lillian June Henschel (Née Bailey) by Julius Rolshoven for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,241.27). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Rolshoven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Assisi Market Girls in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 123,229.85).
