This artwork by Julian Rossi Ashton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in April 2003. In the THE ESTATE OF THE LATE FREDERICK D. BLADIN auction, the work The Ball Dress sold for AUD 7,637.50 (€ 3,894.63) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Rossi Ashton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Holidays in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 58,100.00 (€ 78,948.04).

BLADIN wurde die Arbeit The Ball Dress für AUD 7.637,50 (€ 3.894,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julian Rossi Ashton erzielen.
