A top price for Jules Vernet
The work Portrait of a child by Jules Vernet was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 882.00 (€ 985.27). With this result, Portrait of a child is even the most expensive work of art by Jules Vernet that we have observed at auctions so far.
