Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French The Lovers by Jules Girardet was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. The price achieved of USD 20,000.00 (€ 12,846.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jules Girardet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le lendemain des noces, which sold at auction in April 2005 for USD 38,400.00 (€ 29,723.66).

Die Arbeit French The Lovers von Jules Girardet kam im April 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 12.846,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jules Girardet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le lendemain des noces beobachtet, die im April 2005 für USD 38.400,00 (€ 29.723,66) versteigert wurde.
