Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Jacques Ginepro, Une Vie de Sculptures, which included the work Le Baiser (The Kiss) by Jules Desbois. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,410.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jules Desbois have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Misère in October 2014 with an auction result of EUR 25,280.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Jacques Ginepro, Une Vie de Sculptures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Baiser (The Kiss) von Jules Desbois zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.410,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jules Desbois auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Misère im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 25.280,00.
