Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Nelson Mandela in his Cell on Robben Island (revisit) by Jürgen Schadeberg. The price achieved of USD 1,785.00 (€ 1,532.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Jürgen Schadeberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nelson Mandela In His Cell On Robben Island (Revisit), 1994Silver Print, Selenium Toned, Printed 2007. Signed, Titled And Dated In The Lower Margin And With The Photographer'S Copyright Blindstamp In The Right Margin. Signed By Nelson Mandela In The Image in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 6,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nelson Mandela in his Cell on Robben Island (revisit) von Jürgen Schadeberg zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.785,00 (€ 1.532,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jürgen Schadeberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nelson Mandela In His Cell On Robben Island (Revisit), 1994Silver Print, Selenium Toned, Printed 2007.
