In July 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings, which included the work Awaiting The Suitors by Juan Jiménez. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,029.87), 36% above the upper estimate. Other works by Juan Jiménez have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,538.53) in October 2000 for the work The mandolin serenade.
