Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Charles Ii, King Of Spain (1661–1700) by Juan Carreño de Miranda was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,381.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Juan Carreño de Miranda have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2009 the work Portrait Of Charles Ii, King Of Spain (1661-1700) was auctioned for GBP 73,250.00 (€ 82,628.58).
