It achieved a price of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,836.30), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Wolf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 120 original drawings of animals in May last year with an auction result of GBP 119,700.00 (€ 140,815.66).

Die Arbeit A Woodcock With Its Young And A Robin von Joseph Wolf kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.836,30) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Wolf erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 120 original drawings of animals im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 119.700,00 (€ 140.815,66).
