Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection, which included the work Theseus Crowned With A Laurel Wreath After Slaying The Centaur Bianor by Joseph Werner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,624.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Werner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Mort De Didon in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 72,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Theseus Crowned With A Laurel Wreath After Slaying The Centaur Bianor von Joseph Werner zur Versteigerung kam.
