Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allegoria del Tempo, en grisaille by Josef Melling was auctioned at Christies in Milan in May 2007. The price achieved of EUR 4,960.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Josef Melling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Baigneuse Surprise - A Nymph Startled By A River God in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,083.46).

Die Arbeit Allegoria del Tempo, en grisaille von Josef Melling kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Mailand zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 4.960,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josef Melling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Baigneuse Surprise - A Nymph Startled By A River God im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.083,46).
