Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme assise tenant un enfant sur ses genoux by Joseph Marie Bouton was sold in the Portrait Miniatures auction at Artcurial in June this year. It changed hands for a price of EUR 3,280.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Marie Bouton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De La Reine D'Espagne Marie-Louise De Bourbon-Parme Et De Son Fils L'Infant François De Paule Dans Les Jardins D'Aranjuez in June 2020 with an auction result of EUR 257,000.00.

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 3.280,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Marie Bouton erzielen.
