Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Pictures, which included the work Shoeing Horses At The Blacksmith by Joseph Moerenhout. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 6,990.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Moerenhout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Collecting the daily catch, which sold at auction in October 2004 for EUR 19,120.00.
