In March 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction The Decorative Arts Sale incl. Fine Paintings, which included the work An Alpine landscape with an old woman on a pathway by Joseph Holzer. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,750.00 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Holzer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German Waldlandschaft Mit Reh (Forest Landscape With Deer) in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,668.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im März 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion The Decorative Arts Sale incl. Fine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Alpine landscape with an old woman on a pathway von Joseph Holzer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.750,00 und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Holzer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit German Waldlandschaft Mit Reh (Forest Landscape With Deer) im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.668,33).
