Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of A Gentleman by Joseph Hippolyte Lequeutre was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 750.00 (€ 836.57). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Hippolyte Lequeutre - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Gentleman , which sold at auction in July 2019 for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,333.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman von Joseph Hippolyte Lequeutre im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 750,00 (€ 836,57) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Hippolyte Lequeutre mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman beobachtet, die im Juli 2019 für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.333,11) versteigert wurde.
