Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Drawings, which included the work View of Castel Madama, with travellers on a path by the Tiber in the foreground by Joseph Anton Koch. The price achieved of USD 16,800.00 (€ 13,818.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Anton Koch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work German Heroische Landschaft Mit Regenbogen (Heroic Landscape With Rainbow) in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,812,500.00 (€ 2,305,579.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Castel Madama, with travellers on a path by the Tiber in the foreground von Joseph Anton Koch zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.800,00 (€ 13.818,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Anton Koch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit German Heroische Landschaft Mit Regenbogen (Heroic Landscape With Rainbow) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.812.500,00 (€ 2.305.579,21).
