Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction The European Art Sale, which included the work Terrace In The Gardens Of The Villa Borghese, Rome by Josef Theodor Hansen. The price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,306.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Josef Theodor Hansen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Sala delle Quattro Porte, Doge's Palace, Venice in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,473.70).
