The price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef Breitenbach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Max Ernst And The Seahorse, New York, 1942, which sold at auction in November 2015 for EUR 15,000.00.
