Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work The Spanish paddle gunboat Lepanto at anchor by José Pineda for USD 900.00 (€ 754.72). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by José Pineda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Spanish barque Teresa in full sail off the coast in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,464.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Spanish paddle gunboat Lepanto at anchor von José Pineda für USD 900,00 (€ 754,72) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José Pineda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Spanish barque Teresa in full sail off the coast im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.464,93).
