Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dorotea pretends to be the Princess Micomicona; and Sancho Panza drinks the True Balsam of Fierbras: two scenes from Don Quixote by José Jiménez y Aranda was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in New York in October 2004. The price achieved of USD 11,950.00 (€ 9,375.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Jiménez y Aranda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La dernière epâve in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 292,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dorotea pretends to be the Princess Micomicona; and Sancho Panza drinks the True Balsam of Fierbras: two scenes from Don Quixote von José Jiménez y Aranda wurde im Oktober 2004 in der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART bei Christies in New York versteigert.
