Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Seated Man In A Hat by Jordanus Hoorn was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 705.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jordanus Hoorn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A river landscape with elegant townsfolk promenading by a city wall; and A view of Arnhem with the St. Walburgskerk on the left and the Grote Kerk on the right, elegant townsfolk promenading nearby in May 2002 with an auction result of EUR 13,145.00.
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A river landscape with elegant townsfolk promenading by a city wall; and A view of Arnhem with the St. Walburgskerk on the left and the Grote Kerk on the right, elegant townsfolk promenading nearby im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.145,00.
