Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism, which included the work A village with peasants making merry in a street by Joost Cornelis Droochsloot. The price achieved of EUR 17,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joost Cornelis Droochsloot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Princes Of Orange Leaving The Buitenhof And Passing The Western Side Of The Hofvijver In The Hague. in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 242,500.00 (€ 291,689.89).

Im November 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism durch, in der auch die Arbeit A village with peasants making merry in a street von Joost Cornelis Droochsloot zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 17.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joost Cornelis Droochsloot erzielen.
