However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joos van Winghe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Allegorie der Fama, which sold at auction in May last year for EUR 112,500.00.

Die Arbeit Heliogabal and the Wise Women von Joos van Winghe wurde im Juli 2008 in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 41.228,09) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Für andere Arbeiten von Joos van Winghe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Allegorie der Fama beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für EUR 112.500,00 versteigert wurde.
