In the British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations auction, the work Boats at Low Tide changed hands for GBP 117.50 (€ 181.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wheatley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The rowing boat in September 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,087.23).
