Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still life with apples and a plum by John Sherrin was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2001. The price achieved of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,848.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Sherrin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with primroses, a violet and a birds nest on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 3,995.00 (€ 6,530.77).
